This is a continuation of the post from the day before yesterday, “HISA appears to be in a precarious position,” and I’m only “writing” this—it’s actually a series of tweets from today—because the new FTC chair, Andrew Ferguson, posted a tweet yesterday that further crystallized for me why I think SCOTUS decided against hearing FTC v NHBPA for the time being.
Here’s the thread:
Intriguing
HISA is the most useless organization in the Federal Government and I hope that DOGE will eliminate them. I will make sure my voice is heard by Elon Musk as to just how worthless this organization is. I will give Musk my first hand experience of a list of horses I sent to HISA that were killed or permanently injured in less than a 6 month period of time that essentially wiped out my business. They chose to do nothing and said it was out of their jurisdiction. On the same day they gave me that ruling, they fined two jockeys for three excessive whips of their mounts with that deadly, padded whip the jockeys now use. This organization, which claims to look out for the interests of our horses, chose to ignore 6 horses destroyed while in training with an individual but gave all their attention to three excessive whips by two jockeys. In my opinion, and in the opinion of many horseman I know, HISA was created to destroy racing or at least get everyone out except the super rich. Let's face it, it's really only the rich at the top of the game that support this useless organization.
